Then Comes Marriage

Where do I start with these two? As I thought about what I’d say in this blog post today, all I could come up with was the word LOVE. I absolutely LOVE Michelle and Curtis. You know how some people say that you’re never supposed to rely on someone to “complete” you? That you’re supposed to be independent and complete, in and of yourself? Well, I wholeheartedly agree with that, but there are some people that are even better together than apart, and M&C one of those couples.

To give a back story, Michelle and I go way back. Way back to the good ole days when we both took classes in Photography at OCC. My first class at OCC, I met Michelle. From then on, we were darkroom buddies.We talked about everything (much to our teacher’s dismay), and that little darkroom was where not only our photography hobbies turned into future careers, but also where a lifelong friendship started. Right away, I was just totally floored by Michelle’s passion for life, art, and pushing her limits constantly. She’s NEVER okay with just getting by. I also love that Michelle is totally “no drama.” You know how you have some girlfriends that you just pick up where you left off at whenever you see them? That’s her. Even though we both have traveled a bunch, and moved a few times, it just made the times we got to spend together that much more meaningful. I couldn’t have felt more honored when Michelle asked me to capture her wedding day. It was a BIG secret, and the only people who knew about the plans were their super close family members. It was such a sweet, emotional time, and I of course caught myself getting teary eyed many times. Curtis, thanks for making Michelle SO happy. Your wit, enthusiasm and passion for life are SO evident. You both are totally meant for each other, and Kaya is SO lucky to have you both as parents (and YES, Kaya is the cutest baby EVER, and really, what would you expect from two hot parents)!?! I LOVE YOU TWO!

PS, even cooler, their “reception” was a rad dinner at Clay Oven in Irvine. I just about passed out, it tasted THAT good. I’ve been craving it ever since I ate there.
