To give a little back story, I know Heidi and Dan from our days at Biola. Heidi’s sister (Carli) was my roommate basically all through college, and is one my bestest friends. I’ve always thought the world of her sister Heidi, she’s incredible, passionate, and SO sweet. Dan was one of the first people I met at Biola too! He’s always been super kind, he always asks great questions, and is TOTALLY into Heidi. Their story is super cool, in that Dan saw Heidi during their college years and thought she was super hot, but it wasn’t until after they both graduated and attended Carli’s birthday party when they made the connection and sparks flew.

I really don’t think I’ve ever had my job so EASY, when it came to capturing their day. First of all, Heidi was SUPER laid back and did not have an ounce of bridezilla in her. Dan was a totally involved groom too which always makes things so much easier! Also, the day just ran so smoothly. Everyone was just HAPPY. No, BEAMING really. And, the best part, is that they gave me 45 minutes to get photos of just them two!!! Heck yes! Thus, some of my favorite portraits ever!

Heidi and Dan, you two are incredible. Your love is SO obvious and rich. Your passion for each other is incredible, and I can’t wait to see how you two change the world together. Thanks for renewing my passion for photography. You made me realize all over again why I can’t get enough of love. :)

The most gorgeous bridal party on the planet!

And don’t you love all the floral dresses? Heidi didn’t know if they’d be able to afford much for flowers so she had them WEAR flowers! But then when she saw the flowers from her florist, she was blown away, they were stunningly beautiful!

I wish I would’ve had more time with the girls, but the guys weren’t bad either! :)

Um, I’m dying over here!! Heidi, Ralph Lauren called and he wants you to model with your husband for the next Romance Perfume ad. :)

If all my brides were this spicy, I’d be in photographer heaven.

And…the MONEY shot. When I captured this one I was ECSTATIC.

A few bouquet shots before the reception…

Heidi grew up in Germany, thus they really wanted to work in some of the tradition from Germany into their reception. They did a traditional German meal (soup, bread, cheese, fruit etc..) and had three different people perform music as is tradition. They also played some fun games, before starting up the dancing! Ryan even came over in the middle of the reception and said “why aren’t more receptions this fun??!”.

The shoe game involved the DJ (Heidi’s brother who’s an amazing DJ) reading off questions about “who will be the first to do this or that in your marriage…” And then they raise the shoe that corresponds to the person they think the question applies to.

Then Heidi had to close her eyes and figure out which legs were her husbands’! I just love Dan’s reaction!

Dan had to figure out which of the ladies’ hands was Heidi’s…

You know they’re rad when their first dance is to Digital Love by Daft Punk.

Again, Dan and Heidi thank you SO much for inviting me to capture your day, and thus letting me have a part in your story. Heidi, let’s do that wedding dress vs. the Ocean thing you mentioned. :)

Kati! Great job girl. I really love the photos after the ceremony, in the water wash ravine or where ever that is. They have just the right amount of spiciness to them, yet reveal young love.
